Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor Places Hold on Mandate

HHS Mandate

Breaking News in the Fight HHS Mandate….

US Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor has temporarily blocked requirement for some religion-affiliated organizations provide health insurance that includes birth control. This decision came in only hours before the law went into effect. This ruling came after a request from an organization of Catholic nuns in Denver called the Little Sisters of the Poor Home for the Aged. There was a request for an emergency stay that had been denied earlier in the day by a federal appeals court. This halt has created a large buzz in the government and in religious organizations. Sotomayor has given government officials until 10 a.m. EST Friday to respond to this order she requested. A decision on whether to make the temporary injunction permanent or dissolve it will have to take place sometime by then. Time will tell the outcome.
